Governor – Mrs Jayne Neveu

I am the Headteacher at Deerhurst and Apperley School. I took over the school in September 2015.  I have been in education since 2002 but before that I was a member of the Police Service and spent my last years in the Criminal Investigation department. Having my two sons gave me the opportunity to develop my interests in education. I took my PGCE and then went on to complete the National Primary Qualification of Headteacher and the rest is history!

I am passionate about everything I do.  My interests include reading, walking and spending breaks in Cornwall with my husband. We have a lovely little West Highland terrier who is a valued member of our family along with three cats, one of which was a rescue cat brought home by my youngest son!

My wife, Ruth, and I have 6 children with four of them currently at Deerhurst and Apperley. As the school is such an important part of their lives, we wanted to be involved in helping the school succeed. I have been a governor for the past 3 years and Ruth has been running the school choir for nearly ten years.

I have recently been elected as the Chair of Governors, and also participate on the Finance and Premises Committee.

My career has mostly been spent in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, and I currently manage a small medical company based in Cheltenham.

It’s a privilege to be part of a wonderful school. I enjoy working with the governors and staff to ensure all pupils at Deerhurst and Apperley can reach their full potential whilst enjoying their time at the school.
